Healthy Peppermint Mocha Recipe ☕️

Anyone else crave a warm mug of hot chocolate while relaxing and watching the Hallmark Channel? Because me too!

The other day, I hopped on the bandwagon and purchased the limited edition Silk “Peppermint Mocha” creamer for my coffee and unpopular opinion: was very disappointed! SO I created this tasty holiday drink on my own that I can’t wait to share 🤤

The best part about this recipe is that it’s only a few ingredients, it’s easy to make, paleo, vegan, and cheaper than Starbucks! Keep reading for my YUMMY mocha recipe….☕️🍫

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1 Nespresso pod (or 1/4 cup espresso 1 large 1-2 oz shot)

  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon cacao powder

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (I used Walden Farms 0 cal)

  • optional: Gay Lea or SO Delicious dairy free coconut whip cream to top

Instructions

  • In a pan or microwave, heat almond milk until warm

  • Whisk in peppermint extract, cocoa powder + maple syrup

  • Whisk until warm and frothy

  • Pour milk mixture into a mug, and top with espresso

  • Enjoy!!!

Instead of spending $8 at Starbucks.. you can make this for less than two dollars total! Little swaps like this can end up saving hundreds of dollars and over 1,000 calories each week, it’s crazy how fast it can add up!

Wanna compare MY Peppermint Mocha to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha:

Starbucks Tall Peppermint Mocha with Almond Milk: 350 Calories, Fat: 13g, Carbs: 48g, Sugar: 42g

Healthy Peppermint Mocha Latte: 63 Calories, Fat: 3g, Carbs: 7g, Sugar: 5g (if using regular maple syrup, even less if using Walden Farm’s 0 cal!)

Thank me later 💁🏻‍♀️

Until next time,

Sarah
